DeepFake - How Deep Fakes Are Spreading

air news today

Fake news is the most popular form of slander. Deepfake has been a popular way to spread this fake news. Recent examples include the video in which the Gabon president gave an address that rivals thought was fake. The video sparked civil unrest in Gabon, and the president's condition is currently unknown. But, fake news is expected to continue in the future.

Artificial intelligence (AI).

AI providers are promoting fake AI in a few cases. MMC Ventures in London has found that 40% of AI startups it examined did not use the term "artificial intelligence" in their marketing claims. Banjo was an application that analysed information manually by human data scientists. Utah's lawmaker is not the only one. Fake AI has also stung many governments and companies.

Fake news

The civil liability for platforms that distribute deep fakes is worldwide because of their global dissemination. Defamation, false lighting, and intentional infliction or emotional distress are the most common civil claims for deep fakes. Problem is, the platform owner might be overseas and there may not be any recourse for anyone who is hurt by the content. However, there are some measures platforms can take to mitigate the harm caused by deep fakes.

Phishing

Identity fraud, which is one of the fastest growing types of financial crime, has deepfake technology that opens up a Pandora's Box for hackers. Deepfake technology is capable of fooling authentication factors because identities are shared across applications and endpoints. Phishers can use this technology to steal identities of business leaders. QR code phishing is the new threat

Pornography

Users are becoming more and more familiar with deepfake pornography. Its creators are using artificial intelligence (AI) to create pornographic content from the likeness of celebrities and other influential people. Deepfake is a lucrative industry. Deepfake videos are not like traditional porn but do not require consent. Instead, they involve the abuse of the likenesses of people over 18.

Reconstructions and reconstructions of celebrities

DeepFake, which uses artificial intelligence to make video-based copies of celebrities, allows for the reconstruction of celebrity faces. The technology involves swapping the faces of the subject and a deep neural network that learns how to reconstruct the image. DeepFake, which uses videos as inputs has facial landmarks that allow it to identify the subject's faces and reconstruct it using these landmarks.

FAQ

How does AI work?

An algorithm is a set or instructions that tells the computer how to solve a particular problem. An algorithm can be described in a series of steps. Each step is assigned a condition which determines when it should be executed. The computer executes each instruction in sequence until all conditions are satisfied. This repeats until the final outcome is reached.

For example, suppose you want the square root for 5. It is possible to write down every number between 1-10, calculate the square root for each and then take the average. That's not really practical, though, so instead, you could write down the following formula:

sqrt(x) x^0.5

This will tell you to square the input then divide it twice and multiply it by 2.

This is the same way a computer works. It takes your input, squares and multiplies by 2 to get 0.5. Finally, it outputs the answer.

Who created AI?

Alan Turing

Turing was born 1912. His mother was a nurse and his father was a minister. After being rejected by Cambridge University, he was a brilliant student of mathematics. However, he became depressed. He started playing chess and won numerous tournaments. He returned to Britain in 1945 and worked at Bletchley Park's secret code-breaking centre Bletchley Park. Here he discovered German codes.

1954 was his death.

John McCarthy

McCarthy was born in 1928. He studied maths at Princeton University before joining MIT. He created the LISP programming system. By 1957 he had created the foundations of modern AI.

He died in 2011.

Where did AI come?

Artificial intelligence was established in 1950 when Alan Turing proposed a test for intelligent computers. He stated that a machine should be able to fool an individual into believing it is talking with another person.

John McCarthy took the idea up and wrote an essay entitled "Can Machines think?" in 1956. In it, he described the problems faced by AI researchers and outlined some possible solutions.

What industries use AI the most?

The automotive industry is one of the earliest adopters AI. BMW AG uses AI, Ford Motor Company uses AI, and General Motors employs AI to power its autonomous car fleet.

Other AI industries include insurance, banking, healthcare, retail and telecommunications.

How will AI affect your job?

AI will take out certain jobs. This includes truck drivers, taxi drivers and cashiers.

AI will bring new jobs. This includes positions such as data scientists, project managers and product designers, as well as marketing specialists.

AI will make it easier to do current jobs. This includes positions such as accountants and lawyers.

AI will make it easier to do the same job. This includes customer support representatives, salespeople, call center agents, as well as customers.

How does AI impact the workplace

It will change the way we work. We can automate repetitive tasks, which will free up employees to spend their time on more valuable activities.

It will improve customer service and help businesses deliver better products and services.

It will enable us to forecast future trends and identify opportunities.

It will allow organizations to gain a competitive advantage over their competitors.

Companies that fail AI implementation will lose their competitive edge.
